Ayozat TV Stops Sky Broadcasts

Ayozat TV, which only recently moved to a high up channel number, has been abrubtly removed from the Sky satellite platfom. The channel remains available online, with plans announced to switch to “Freeview Digital” (directly quoted from official announcment).

In a satement post on social media on Monday (14th October 2024), Ayozat cited that it is no longer viable to continue broadcasts on the platform.

A plan to switch to “Freeview Digital” has been announced, but details have not been revealed. The most likely option is that the channel will be added as a hybrid streamed service, which is use a portal broadcast terrestrially which links to an online feed. This requires the TV or set top box to be connected to the internet, and be within the broadcast coverage of the portal (typically not broadcast from all transmitters).

Ayozat broadcast a large amount of free-to-air sport and motorsport content, and follows Sporty Stuff TV and Viaplay Extra (formerly Freesports) in being removed from satellite (the latter two closing completely).
