Cable platform Virgin Media has made two changes which will improve its channel line up in the UK. One service, CNN International, has returned to the platform after a period of absense. Another, PBS America, has been upgraded to high definition (HD).
CNN International withdrew from Virgin Media and Freesat in 2021, as part of strategic move. Satellite platform Sky retained the channel; however the channel remained free-to-air, meaning Freesat users could still manually tune in the channel. CNN International is now available once again on Virgin Media (now news on a full Freesat return), and can be found on chnnael 626.
Meanwhile, PBS America is now availble in HD on Virgin Media. The channel is a commercial operation of the US public broadcaster of the same name. It’s operated by a team a team in the UK, with programme strands on both UK and US history. The channel can be found on channel number 187, and viewers’ scheduled recordings should continue without interuption.
