Eden Goes Free-to-Air

UKTV, a commercial subsidiary of the BBC, has converted Eden into a free-to-air channel, with ‘U&’ branding in common practice with others channels owned by UKTV. U&Eden is now available on both Freeview (terrestial) and Freesat (satellite).

On Freeview, U&Eden is broadcast on the PSB3 Freeview multiplex. Owned by the BBC, this multiplex is available from all transmitters including relays, and broadcasts using the DVB-T2 format. This means near universal coverage, but at the expense of being only receivable by newer Freeview HD and Freeview Play branded equipment.

U&Eden is available on channel number 57, in turn displacing U&Dave Ja Vu (Dave +1 hour timeshift) to channel 74. Part time place holder channel U&Yesterday+1 (which only broadcast for a handful of hours each day) has been removed.

Meanwhile, on Freesat, U&Eden can be found on channel 160, and is a rare addition following a number of channel removals from the platform.
