Eurosport to Close in the UK

Warner Bros. Discovery, owers of both TNT Sports (formerley BT Sport) and Eurosport, have announced that the UK and Ireland version of Europort is to close. Content is moving over to TNT Sports, giving Warner Bros. Discovery a single sports brand for the UK.

Sky and Virgin Media customers will be left out of pocket, as they currently get Eurosport channels included within basic tier and above packages. TNT Sports is currently only available as a sperate subscription. From 28 February (2025), viewers on Sky and Virgin Media will need to upgrade to a TNT Sports package.

On Discovery+ (Warner Bros. Discovery’s current streaming platform), the changes have seen the ‘standard’ tier (entertainment plus Eurosport) withdrawn, will all sports content now on the ‘premium’ tier. which costs £30.99 per month.

Free-to-air channel Quest (also owned by Warner Bros. Discovery) will see an increased amount of sports coverage, largely intended as a ‘shop window’ to promote TNT Sports.

Eurosport is to continue unchanged in other countries that it already operates in.
