TV Player is an internet based streaming service which allows you to watch live TV channels on PCs, laptops mobile phones and tablets. A small selection of free and paid for channels are available, although in all cases you are now required to sign in to watch.
Current Channels
See information below for details on device restrictions, as some channels are not available on all devices.
The current channel line-up can be found on the TV Player website.
Device Compatibility
TV Player can be accessed from any device with a web browser, by visiting www.tvplayer.com.
For mobiles and tablets, an app can be downloaded for Apple iPhones and iPads, and Android devices. To view BBC channels, you will need to also download the BBC iPlayer app, due to BBC rights restrictions.
Roku devices and some smart TVs also have the app. All Android powered TVs also have access to the app.
There may be location restrictions and device restrictions, which may mean not all channels will be available depending on location and device used. I understand that the full lineup is available on the website version, but this may not be the case for all users.
Requirment for a TV License
In general, unless viewing via an app on your TV, you do not need a TV license. The exception to this is if you view BBC content, either live or pre-recorded, in which you will need a TV license.
